SOLD Parvati wife of Siva Mahadewa the Hindu Supreme God. Standing in ‘Tribangga’ poses ( thrice bent). Holding in her left hand a lotus plant, ending in the flower above her shoulder. In her right hand she holds the cobra snake (Siva’s symbol). There’s a full length back slab and an oval ‘Prabha’ halo behind her. Head can be seen. She wears a high ‘Mahkota’ headdress with snake emblem, pendant earrings, numerous belts, necklaces, arm bands, bracelets and anklets. For her clothing she wears a ‘dhoti’ or loincloth wrapped around her hips leaving her upper body bare. Contemporary, made from volcanic andesite stone. Origin is Muntilan, Central Java, Indonesia.
